Morley’s in Ministry

Butch and Becky Morley were both born and raised in South Africa. They met at Rosebank Bible College and were married in 1986. They have 4 children: Chad, Kirsti, Lara and Calvin, and one precious grandchild, Mason.

In 1995 they moved from South Africa to Minnesota, USA. Butch became very involved in soccer through the local community as well as in the Schools and God began to give him a vision for sports evangelism.

In 2002 the Morleys moved to Florida and for 6 years served full time with On Goal Soccer Ministries. This involved partnering with local Churches who hosted summer and spring break camps; running after school programs; coaching in the community; and a voluntary chaplaincy to the USA U17 Men’s National soccer team who live and train here in Bradenton at IMG Academy.

After years of using soccer as platform for sharing the Gospel the idea of an “evangelistic soccer ball” caught Butch’s attention. Using the colors of the “wordless book”, (which tell the story of the Gospel), the idea began to take shape. Butch worked with Tom Fite (On Goal Ministries) and Derek Rillo (Tom’s brother–in–law, a graphic artist) and the J316 ball was realized- a great tool for sharing the message of John 3:16!!

In 2009 J316 Ministries Inc. was founded and Butch and Becky have been full time under J316 Ministries since.

Genheimer’s in Ministry

Luke Genheimer grew up in Botswana, Africa where his parents were (and still are) missionaries. Leah and her family lived in a small town in Minnesota. When Luke turned 18 he moved to Minnesota and the two of them attended the same church. They became close friends and were married in 2009. They have 3 children, Ezekiel, Hadassah and Ayana.

Luke felt the calling to be a missionary as a teenager and waited for God to reveal where and when. God pointed to J316 Ministries and the Genheimer family packed up and moved to Florida in 2011.

Luke has always had a passion for soccer and for reaching the next generation. We are excited that he can use his passion in this ministry and in everyday life.

Chaplaincy Ministry

In 2005 God opened the door for Butch to work as a voluntary unofficial chaplain for the US Under 17 men’s national soccer team that live and train at the IMG facilities in Bradenton, Florida. Initially these Chapels (Bible studies and discussions on how to integrate our faith in sport and everyday life) were held bi-weekly, but before long permission was given for weekly Chapels. In 2010 the Chapels were opened up to all the athletes that attend IMG Academy – a mission field right on our door step – over 900 student/athletes from all around the world (over 50 countries). Weekly Chapels are still held with an average of 40 athletes attending, and Butch and Luke have opportunities weekly to interact with athletes, their families, staff and coaches on IMG Campus.
Many of these athletes have gone on to play for Division 1 collegiate and professional teams around the world, and are living out their Christian faith to the glory of God!

J316 Ministries partners with Churches to reach their communities with the message of John 3:16 through Summer Camps, Saturday outreaches, One Day Clinics and Street Soccer. At present we work along side 7 churches in Florida and 2 churches in Minnesota.

J316 Ministries staff has been on Mission trips to Guatemala for the last 5 years. Working along side the local churches in Soccer Outreach. Thousands of J316 soccer balls, basketballs, wristbands and tracts have been used all over the world by Churches, Mission organizations and individuals as a wonderful tool to share God’s Love!
